I'...Oh wow Oscar- that sounds absolutely awful. I'm so sorry that happened! The worst leg cramps I got was after finishing IM CDA... I made my way to the med tent and IMMEDIATELY my left hamstring seized up. It was so painful... but thankfully I was done. I can not (for the life of me) imagine running an additional 2.2 miles with BOTH hammy's seizing and jumping.

You have GUTS, determination, and a will like no other. Even though you didn't get the result that you had in mind...this race shows A LOT more about who you are and how much you're willing to push to make something happen. I have no doubt that you'll achieve your sub 2:50. If anyone can do it - based on how you held up under some excruciating circumstances - you can.

Can't wait to cheer you on when it happens!Marit C-Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06742572497365287990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1672149950200021747.post-33602450111148622882009-11-24T02:39:26.493-05:002009-11-24T02:39:26.493-05:00I think I thought about you going for 3:00 hours f...I think I thought about you going for 3:00 hours first, either this morning, or perhaps last night. 3 hours is an elite group. It took my cousin Rudy 4-6 marathons to break 3, and this year he P.R.'d 10 minutes or so for a 2:47.

I had no idea your muscles balled up. I have had my share of cramps. Neared several times for the balling up of muscles, luckily never happened. I do have some ugly pictures of my face battling through it though. I feel for you there, that had to be horrible.

You have the 3:00 marathon in you, and probably the sub: 2:50.

Too bad training in the winter isn't a good option for you. Pittsburgh is a spring marathon.

Best of LuckStevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13269380609808381980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1672149950200021747.post-89072159296336632882009-11-23T20:18:49.868-05:002009-11-23T20:18:49.868-05:00Oh man, reading about the cramps now I think they ...Oh man, reading about the cramps now I think they were even worse than I had envisioned! I can't believe you finished. I would have taken that cart ride home... ;)Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16247635973514495690noreply@blogger.com
